MEET THE TEAM

Founded by experienced employment lawyers, KL Employment Law act exclusively for employers and work closely with HR professionals and senior leaders.

Our approach is practical, responsive and grounded in how organisations operate. You deal directly with experienced employment lawyers who understand how to manage complex and sensitive situations.

Kate Hindmarch

Director, Employment Law

Kate advises employers and HR teams on complex and sensitive employment law matters, including workplace investigations, disciplinary processes and senior employee issues.

She has extensive experience in employment law and previously led a team of employment lawyers in private practice. She regularly supports organisations in managing high-risk and sensitive situations, particularly those involving senior staff and complex workplace dynamics.

Kate has worked with a range of employers, including education providers, public sector organisations and private sector businesses. This breadth of experience enables her to provide advice that is both legally robust and grounded in the realities of how organisations operate.

Kate is also a fee-paid Employment Tribunal Judge, providing valuable insight into how cases are assessed and decided in practice. This perspective is particularly valuable when advising clients on risk, strategy and potential outcomes.

She is a trained workplace mediator and is particularly skilled in helping organisations navigate and resolve difficult situations before they escalate.

Kate has experience working with education providers, including colleges, multi-academy trusts and independent schools, where governance and regulatory considerations are important. She regularly supports schools on matters such as admissions and parental complaints.

She has also held voluntary roles within the education and charitable sectors, including acting as a trustee of a large academy trust and supporting the Lincolnshire Royal British Legion, giving her additional insight into governance and stakeholder responsibilities.

Clients value her clear, direct advice and her calm, measured approach when dealing with difficult situations.

Louise Henton

Director, Employment Law and HR Advisory

Louise supports employers across a wide range of employment law and HR matters, including day-to-day advisory work, organisational change and complex people issues.

She has over 20 years of experience in employment law and has worked as a senior HR leader at board level. She regularly advises organisations on managing workforce change, handling sensitive employee matters and navigating complex workplace situations.

Louise has worked with a broad range of employers, including NHS Trusts, multi-national companies, owner-managed businesses and independent organisations. This breadth of experience enables her to tailor her advice to reflect the structure, culture and needs of each organisation.

This combination of legal and HR experience allows her to provide advice that is practical, proportionate and aligned with how organisations operate.

Louise is a trained workplace mediator and a CMC Associate Mediator registered with the Civil Mediation Council. She brings additional expertise in resolving workplace conflict and supporting constructive outcomes.

She has worked with both public and private sector employers, including large and complex organisations across sectors such as education, health and social care and manufacturing.

Clients value her responsiveness, clear communication and her ability to explain complex employment law issues in a straightforward way.

Outside of her legal work, Louise is a Trustee of the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, supporting a charity whose mission is close to her heart.
